Changes

Do you know where is the hardest part of a changes? Most of the people think the hardest part is at the beginning. So they put a lot of their effort preparing the training, material, system, etc. They deliver all of that….and then praying that change will occur by themselves.

Well, in my opinion and in my experience…that will never happen. Change is a difficult processes, so you need to maintain it for quite a long time. For example, we want to change the behaviour of the people who are using a certain software. Ussually what we did is creating a plan, preparing training material, deliver the training and then done…expecting that everything will change. Well that is not what happen right? Nothing is change after you deliver training, yea for 3-6 months there are some changes, but after that it going back to the old way.

After you deliver the training you need to keep reminding the users, you need to put pressure & rewards, you need to have a champion who is continuously doing the right thing and attract others to join him doing the right thing.

Change management is never a one phase process……..learn from it.
